So you start with Base Game and add everything in the order listed below.įestive Holiday Stuff (also called Happy Holiday Stuff)Ī couple of other things to note. With newer games it doesn't matter, but considering Sims 2 is an older title, you need to install everything in release order. I know pain the rear, but to install everything properly you need to install everything in release order. The next thing we need to do is uninstall the game. Anyway, if anyone can help, id really appreciate so the first thing to do is to move your Sims 2 folder (found Documents > EA Games > Sims 2) to your Desktop. I know its a long shot that anyone knows what the issue is and how to solve it, but if anyone could help I would be so grateful as the Sims 2 is one of my all time favourite games and Freetime in my opinion is the best expansion and its so annoying that its the only one I cant play. I don't know if maybe it can still run but there is a conflict somewhere in the files that is saying it can't run because of the stuff pack (which I did uninstall aswell, but whatever it did to my PC has lingered as Freetime still wont run), but I don't want to risk reinstalling Freetime unless there is a known solution as I don't want to lose all of my families and towns and have to start from scratch again. It would say I didn't have the nessicary PC requirements to run it, even though I know I do as It was working before I installed the stuff pack. I unistalled all the expansions packs, and reinstalled them and saw they all worked, until I tried installing Freetime. Everything was working before that point, but when I installed the stuff pack, suddenly Freetime no longer worked on my PC. That is until I installed the Ikea stuff pack. The game runs fine, with no issues coming from my PC running windows 10. I have all of the disc copies for the Sims 2 games and expansions (excluding Apartment life, which I do own but I can not find at the present time) and I had them all installed on my PC. I don't know if anyone will be able to help as I know Sims 2 is an older game, but I figured here would be the best bet to try and ask if there was a solution to the issue i'm having.
